Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock Corporation (NORSHIPCO) is a privately held corporation which has served the Port of Hampton Roads in the marine industry since 1915. NORSHIPCO is a full-service shipyard and repair facility contractor, and has enjoyed a reputation as one of the largest and most modern ship repair facilities on the East Coast of the United States. NORSHIPCO is the largest shipyard in the United States devoted exclusively to ship maintenance and repair. Video Atlantic Teleproductions has produced two videos for the facility. The latest is an instructional tape for new supervisors in the shipyard. It is also to be used as refresher training for experienced supervisors. The video covers such topics and employee relations, safety and accident prevention. An earlier video for distribution to all yard workers stressed hazards of working in a shipyard and accident prevention. |
